Earlier this month William Hill announced something that was highly unexpected for the players in the Canadian province of British Columbia. An email was sent to all its customers informing William Hill Casino Club is pulling out of the province.
The unwelcome email was short and started with a sincere apology for any inconvenience to be caused to the customers after reading the correspondence.
The Casino added a decision has been taken for regulatory reasons and that is beyond their control as the nature of it is of very short notice.
As an aftermath the William Hill’s online gambling products won’t be made available in the British Columbia starting May 10.
However, customers can withdraw their balances even after the mentioned date and at any time, writes the mail.
This is not the first time an operator is taking the exit route of the Canadian online gambling space. Similar step was also taken by British bookmaker Ladbrokes that withdrew its services from the Canadian market without intimating to its customers the exact reason behind the decision.
Just ahead of the Christmas Day in 2015 betting operator Betfair went full Grinch. It announced to be blocking the Canadians from accessing its products that includes exchange bets and sportsbook bets.
Prior to this, in 2011, Paddy Power too withdrew its services, but it remained providing B2B services to the provincial lottery monopoly in British Columbia.
Are you crazy about 49s? so is William Hill! Never mind even if it is shut down in one area. You can still access its online products through proxy servers. Simple search in Google and know the steps how to access. It’s simple.
