National Frozen Foods Corporation has recalled its Not-Ready-To-Eat frozen green peas as well as the same frozen mixed vegetables.
The company said limited quantity of recalled frozen vegetables may have been contaminated with Listeria bacteria that can cause serious infections in young children, frail or elderly people. It can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women too.
The vegetables are being carried out under major brands like Market Pantry and Great Value.
The company added if the cooking preparation instructions mentioned on the labels are followed, risk to the bacterium can be reduced.
As of now no illnesses has been reported to the recalled items due to contamination that was revealed by testing finished products of a sample at the company’s facility.
The products have been distributed across the nation between September 2 of last year and June 2 of 2016.
