First Same-Sex Couple Gets Marriage License In Rowan County

Earlier, plenty of same-sex marriage license requests were not issued by the Rowan County clerk Kim Davis who said it is due to “God’s authority.”

However, after several protests and couple of court hearing the clerk is now in jail as she failed to do her duties because Supreme Court issued its decision in June to issue such licenses across the nation. Hence, the Rowan County is no exception.

The couple paid a fee of $35.50 for the license. This was their sixth attempt. Deputy clerk Brian Mason congratulated both the men.
